Just because you are on vacation doesn’t mean that you have to give up access to your internet connection. Motorola and Marriot Hotels recently announced that they are working together to bring Motorola’s PowerBroadband system to their hotel rooms located throughout the United States.
“We are excited about the success we saw with the deployment of Motorola’s mT2a system into two of the largest Marriott branded hotels in the Washington, D.C. area and the 2000-room Orlando World Center,” stated Lou Paladeau, Vice President Operations Technology at Marriott. “While the primary application supported today is high-speed Internet access, the new broadband infrastructure will enable additional guest services such as IP TV, movie and video downloads voice-over-IP, wireless access and dual-mode cell phones. We will be working closely with Motorola to define some of these new services to create a seamless and enhanced traveling experience for both the business traveler and the guest who is on vacation.”
The deployment of PowerBroadband is easy for the hotel chain. A simple faceplate change on existing in-room phone lines makes the switch over easy. Look for PowerBroadband the next time you’re a guest at Marriot.
