As someone who has been to the Dominican Republic, you can see how nice the place is for a vacation for young people. But now older folks are getting into the act as well in the Caribbean country.

After decades of hard work and limited relaxation, mature adults deserve to make unforgettable memories and get their past due dose of “R & R.” And, more than ever before, older adults are using vacations as their relaxation outlet. The DR’s diverse regions set the perfect scene to
satisfy all tastes, no matter the traveler’s idea of a perfect getaway.
The South Central Coast. Home to the DR’s capital of Santo Domingo, this area boasts a metropolitan flare with historical charm. Here travelers experience history by walking the 16th century cobblestone streets of the Colonial Zone. This cultural area is populated with archeological sites and art museums along with ancient cathedrals and a tempting layout of hip
restaurants.
The East Coast. Known as the DR’s golf mecca, the East Coast currently features nine courses all designed by famed architects, including Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Nick Faldo and more. Plus, five more courses will open between now and 2009.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous most of the year in the DR, and especially during the months when it’s cold in the rest of the world, so it might be worth a look when you’re planning your next vacation.
