At 220 rooms the new Marriot Metarie at Lakeview will introduce a Marriot presence in an area where they didn’t have any other hotels. The company didn’t have any properties in Jefferson Parish, which is rebounding very nicely from the devestation of Hurrican Katrina.

“Jefferson Parrish has quickly rebounded over the last year and is an area ripe for growth and development,” said Tico Bevier, CHA, vice president, managing director of Pyramid Hotel Group. “By launching this hotel in the heart of Metairie’s business district, we are addressing a growing segment of business travelers who use Jefferson as their base of
operations. Our location, near the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and Interstate 10, makes it easily accessible for corporate guests and meeting attendees, whether flying or driving.”
Ideally located in the Lakeway Office Tower and on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain, guests of the hotel will enjoy easy access to many of New Orleans’ main attractions such as the famed, historic French Quarter and the New Orleans central business district, both of which are only eight miles away from the hotel. Louis Armstrong International Airport is also
only eight miles away.

You can also get French food at the hotel at the Bistro 38. Expect many of the amenities that New Orleans has become famous for at the new hotel.
