Jet Blue Cancels 215 More Flights Due To Weather
March 16, 2007 – 7:04 amA winter storm on the east coast is to blame for Jetblue cancelling another 215 flights today. These cancellations affected about 1/3 of the discount carriers flights for the day. More than 200 flights were affected at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Other airports affected include LaGuardia, Newark’s Liberty International airport and Boston’s Logan Airport.
A winter storm is expected to dump around a foot of snow in the area.
“We’ve always tried to take a wait-and-see approach with the weather … believing that people want to get to their destination late, rather than never,”
The only problem is I’d say most people would prefer to get to their destination on time and not get stuck at an airport waiting to leave or having their flights cancelled.
I’m sure Jetblue is anxious for better weather (and operating conditions) to get here so they can stop ticking people off. I know that safety comes first, but causing inconvenience for your
passengers over and over is going to hurt when they decide to travel with an airline that isn’t
cancelling or delaying flights on a regular basis.
Have you flown with Jetblue? Do you think that they are an example of “getting what you pay for?”
