ExpressJet To Offer More Flights Out Of New Orleans
February 6, 2007 – 4:33 pmToday ExpressJet, based out of Houston, announced that they are adding new daily non-stop flights out of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. ExpressJet is a regional partner with Continental Airlines.
ExpressJet is adding daily non-stop flights to Kansas City, Mo.; Birmingham, Ala., Jacksonville, Fla., and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. They are also in talks to provide non-stop service to Austin and San Antonio, Texas. Plans to restore flight service to Orlando, Florida is expected later this year. These cities haven’t had service since before Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005.
“All of these cities are very important to New Orleans doing well,” said Dan Packer, chairman of the New Orleans Aviation Board.
Putting these flights back online will help to restore flight traffic levels to about 75% since Hurricane Katrina and is part of an overall plan to help rebuild New Orleans.
