If you want to get a sense of “how things used to be” in these great United States, then a trip to Colonial Williamsburg might be in order. The town has been exquisitely preserved to allow tourists to get a glimpse into what life was in Colonial times. February is Black History Month, and that has a special significance for the area:

“The history of African Americans has influenced every aspect of our nation’s development and is an integral part of the story we tell here at Colonial Williamsburg,” said Rex Ellis, vice president of the Historic Area. “We seek to teach American History through multiple perspectives that help facilitate understanding among all of our guests regarding the importance of African-American culture.”

A visit to Colonial Williamsburg during Black History Month might be educational for the whole family. For more information: Visit Colonial Williamsburg.
