If you’ve ever driven through the state of New York via I-90 you can’t help but notice how many vineyards there are. The last time we drove to Niagara Falls the weather was so mild that there were people out tending their vines.

Witnessing this made me wonder about the life of a vineyard and about how factors like the weather might affect a juicy little grape. Does it make the wine sweeter? More robust? More aromatic?

When the weather is right and the grapes are in season, we’ll have to spend some time touring the vineyards and wineries in beautiful New York State. Luckily, longer days and warmer nights aren’t that far off, so growing season will be underway soon.
