It’s getting to be the only place you can smoke in the US anymore is in your car. And you can now add Gaylord Hotels to the list of places where you can no longer light up. This follows a trend that other hoteliers have been doing for quite some time.
“We pride ourselves on offering extraordinary environments at our properties, which include climate-controlled glass-covered atriums featuring acres of indoor foliage and plants,” said Caparella. “It doesn’t seem right to pollute those environments with smoke, especially when our clients increasingly request non-smoking rooms. We care about our meeting
attendees and we also care about our STARS who will no longer have to be subjected to second-hand smoke.”
The company is also auctioning off over 10,000 ashtrays. If you’re interested in buying a vintage ashtray, you can check out the company’s auction website.
The hotels will be smoke-free on February 12, 2007. This move affects the company’s properties such as the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla., and Gaylord Texan on Lake Grapevine near Dallas, as well as the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
