August 14, 2006 – 5:30 am

Alaska Air recently announced that they are lifting the ban on carry-on luggage for passengers.

New rules implemented by the Transportation Security Administration that prohibit liquids, gels and aerosol cans in carry on remain intact.

Passengers of Alaska Air are permittted to bring on one piece of carry-on luggage and one personal item such as a purse or laptop computer. At least one of these items should be stored underneath the seat in front of them. To expedite security checks, passengers are encouraged to use a clear plastic bag so TSA officials can examine contents quicker.

Alaska Air permits 2 peices of checked baggage that weighs under 50 pounds for no additional charge to the traveler.
