July 28, 2006 – 9:10 am

United Airlines announced today that they will be adding 40 more weekly year round flights over the next 9 months to better service Asian-Pacific markets.

This will help solidify their position as the world’s largest transpacific passenger carrier.

United’s international network optimization plan will result in the following changes to its schedule:

  • United will launch the first-ever service between Asia Pacific (Tokyo) and its Washington Dulles hub.
  • They will reinstate daily, nonstop San Francisco-Taipei service.
  • An expansion of United’s San Francisco-Seoul service from seasonal to year round; and addition of three more weekly flights between San Francisco and Hong Kong.
  • United will add service to Tokyo Narita from Dulles Airport on October 28, 2006. This flight will be serviced by a Boeing 777.

Flight UA 803 departs IAD (Dulles) at 12:20 p.m. and arrives at NRT (Tokyo) at 4:25 p.m. the next day.
Flight UA 804 departs NRT (Tokyo) at 4:55 PM and arrives at IAD (Dulles) at 3:25 p.m. the same day. These flights will run daily.
