Americans have always been a work-obsessed group, and now they’re even working through vacations. It’s easy to understand why, to a degree, because this is the most mobile generation in history. They also have access to all their work related items, no matter how far they might be from the office because of technology.

Overall, roughly one in four employees said they spent three or more hours working during vacation. Most said they were committed to the job or had a pressing assignment, while 10 percent cited an inability to relax until things were taken care of.

Undoubtedly, many of these workers feel very likely that they might get fired, or fall behind in a promotion if they take time off. The problem has been getting worse for years, according to the study.

Laptops and Cell Phones are the main reason people are able to work on vacations. Their use continues to rise.
