Celebrity Cruises has ordered another Solstice class ship to help meet demand for their expanding fleet. The Solstice is an impressive ship:

Each of the three ships will be 2,850-guest vessels measuring 1,033 feet in length and 121 feet in width, with larger standard staterooms, a higher percentage of balconies and an exceptional range of guest-inspired services and amenities.

The additional ship is part of a continued program to differentiate Celebrity Cruises, based on quality. Producing vessels of such high quality is not cheap. In fact, Celebrity Cruises estimates the cost of the ship to be $245,000 per berth! The ship is powered by a diesel-electric podded propulsion system, for quiet sailing.

The new ship should be ready by 2008. Celebrity Cruises has 9 ships which cruise from:

  • Alaska
  • Bermuda
  • California
  • the Caribbean
  • Europe
  • the Galapagos Islands
  • Hawaii
  • the Mexican Riviera
  • the Panama Canal
  • South America
