Travelling By Rail

I’ve always been intrigued by the thought of taking a vacation on a railcar.

I’ve traveled in cars, in buses, and on planes, but have never experienced being on a train.
I’ve never even been in a subway car! It seems to me this would be an affordable and enjoyable way to see the countryside in a different way than I’m accustomed.

I’m sure the best Rail tour would have to be the Orient Express, but there are other rail tours that are a little closer to home here in the US. I found one that runs in Colorado that scales over 7,500 miles on the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway and through the Rocky Mountains.

I’d love to hear feedback from anyone that has taken this rail tour or has suggestions for other rail tours that might be worth checking out.
