It’s hard to believe that Independence Day is just around the corner.

That means it’s time to start making your holiday vacation plans. Summer is a great time to take some time to explore the world around you, especially on the Independence Day Holiday.

One 4th of July favorite is to go camping. In a lot of cases, campgrounds fill quickly on this holiday. Your best bet is to to browse for campgrounds that offer the amenities that you want and contact them as soon as possible to reserve your campsite. Some campgrounds offer cabin rentals, primitive camping (no electric or running water), sites for RV’s and pop up campers.

Things you might want to check before making reservations at a campground:

  • Pet Friendly If you have pets, ask if the campground is “pet friendly”. This assures that Fido can camp with you!
  • Swimming Pool or Swimming Lake If swimming is important to you and your family, ask a booking representative if they have one (or both) Most campgrounds have some sort of swimming facility, but you might want to double check just to be on the safe side.
  • Visitor Rules/ Restrictions Some campgrounds have rules and restrictions on visitors to the campground. If you’re planning on having friends stop by, check to see if there’s a fee for them to enter, a limit on cars allowed per campsite, or a set time that visitors must leave by so you don’t run into issues with the management later.
  • I hope that these few tips help you, should you decide to go outdoors and camp for the upcoming 4th of July holiday!
