We had the chance to spend some time at Harrah’s while we were in Vegas.
This is a sister property of Caesar’s Palace that offers a nice room for a fair price.
We decided to book a room there to have somewhere to stay while we waited for our red-eye flight back home. Check out time was 11:00 AM at CP and our flight departed LAS at 10:45 PM. That was a little too long to have nowhere to go (or stay) and sitting at the airport all day would’ve been no picnic.
Harrah’s has your basics. At the time we were there, it seemed to be the busiest casino out of all we “hoofed it” through.

We were ready to race back to the airport the day we stayed at Harrah’s Casino. We weren’t being petty.
The room was nice enough. Harrah’s had a comfortable, clean bed, an adequate shower, a coffee machine, a “personalized vending machine” (aka don’t move anything, unless you want to get a charge to your room. This was emphasized by the friendly hotel clerk when we checked in)

Serve yourself coffeeservice
The view was nothing breathtaking, but we at least got to see the pool at another casino.
We could also watch workers taking a smoke break on the roof of the hotel next to us.

There is an olympic sized pool and towel service available for all guests of Harrah’s.
They have cabanas available for rental for those that want to relax poolside, but want a bit of privacy. All of them were in use the day we were there. The pool is nothing like Caesar’s, but cools you off in the hot desert sun. That’s just basic! You’ll also find a poolside bar and souvenior store on the pool deck.
We decided to have a little lunch at their buffet called “Flavors”, I would call this an “average” buffet. We waited in line for the better part of an hour to get seated at lunchtime. (The lady signing people up for comps had a lucrative time working the line, though. She must’ve signed up 20 people for their program. ) It wasn’t that the food was bad, it offered a diverse menu with sushi, fried chicken, prime rib, salad, as well as Oriental, Mexican and Italian food and a dessert/ ice cream bar. Maybe it was the presentation of the buffet? Or it might have been that we’d ate at the Bellagio’s buffet for lunch the 3 days before, and it was top notch.
At any rate, it was alright for a quicky lunch.
Harrah’s is a good choice for anyone looking to travel on a budget and stay at the best part of the strip. Monorail and other forms od transportation are available nearby.
