The Sands Adding Upscale Casino and Hotel in Singapore.
May 26, 2006 – 4:55 pmIt was announced that “The Sands” won a license to build the first casino in Singapore.
Harrah’s Entertainment and MGM Grand lost the bid for this project. A law that prohibited
casino gambling was lifted last year, allowing for a multi billion dollar investment in Singapore.
It’s estimated that the cost will be around 3 billion dollars. It’ll be located on a 50 acre waterfront property not far from the city.
They are projecting that the casino will open sometime in 2009.
