Traveling with Children

Traveling with children can be fun, and frustrating.
If you are planning a vacation with kids, here are a few tips to make travel easier.

  • Bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal. This will help keep them busy and relieve stress that kids might have from being on the road or flying on a plane.
  • Make sure you have Supplies If you’re travelling with infants or toddlers, be sure to pack enough diapers, formula, any medications, easy wipes, baby powder, baby food, car seats, or other neccessities you require.
  • Keep them amused. This is much easier now with all of the technology available. If you have access to a portable DVD player, Playstation Portable, or an iPod, pack them to help while away the hours on a plane or a car ride. If you don’t have access to these things, don’t sweat! Old style fun like a coloring book, puzzles and games like I Spy help to pass the time, too.
  • Give them a Say. If your kids are older, let them help decide what activities your family is going to do. I’m not saying “let them run the show”, but give them a “small” voice in your vacation planning.

Family vacations are a great time to bond and let go of every day stress, getting to your vacation destination with kids is half of the battle!
