Renting a Condo for your Next Vacation
April 14, 2006 – 6:31 amHere is another great vacation option for the budget conscious
traveler.
Instead of paying top dollar for a hotel, look into renting a condo.
Florida is known for the great number of condos available on a short term rental basis. Other destinations that offer condo rentals are the Bahamas, Mexico, Tennessee, and Arizona.
Renting a condo is like having a home away from home, as most condos are furnished, provide linens, and have a functioning kitchen. Some might even offer washers and dryers and pool rights. This can save money on dining out, laundry services, and other expenses vacations accrue.
Condo rental prices vary by location and the time of the year that you want to visit. Be prepared to pay more money for an oceanfront condo during the middle of tourist season in Florida.
Most condo rentals are done through rental agencies that manage a number of properties (although some are done by directly contacting the owner. )
so you should have a number of locations and different price ranges to choose from.
For the best selection of condos, you should start contacting agencies 6 to 8 months prior to your desired rental date. Agencies might require a deposit or partial payment for your rental, so you should be prepared to pay some money upfront.
The most important thing is to have a good time. Saving money while having a good time is even better.
