Here is a list of places that we ate at while we stayed in Mississauga, Ontario..a suburb of Toronto.
HooDoo McFiggins. This restaurant was in a small plaza a mile or two down the road from our hotel. The plaza that it was located in was on Dixie Highway and had about 10 other restaurants in it.
We actually ate there twice, and both times were pretty good. It’s basically a sportsbar type place that offers your basic American fare, burgers, wings, pasta, appetizers, beer, salads, soup.
Our first meal was lunch upon our arrival in Mississauga. We ordered a salad and baked potato combo. We had dinner there the next night.. they had some tasty pasta (no meat) that hit the spot.
Chang and Huang Thai. This restaurant is located in the same plaza as HooDoo McFiggins. It offered an extensive Thai menu. We both decided to get some spicy noodles and split an appetizer. For less than 25.00 American, it was a good deal. Being guilty of having bigger eyes than we have a stomach for, there were plenty of leftovers that sadly went to waste.
I like trying new foods, and wasn’t disappointed by our Thai meal.
New Village of India. This restuarant was on Eglington Avenue, a short drive from our hotel. We stopped here for lunch on Saturday. Meals are served buffet style, and it’s all vegetarian. I’m going to have to learn more about Indian foods, because I truly have no idea what some of the foods were, but they were all good. We had a slight communication problem with our waitress, but for under 20.00 (including a tip) it’s someplace I would return to when I visit again.
There were so many places to choose from it was hard to decide where to eat. One place that seemed pretty popular was Tim Horton’s , although it wasn’t a place that we ate at.
I would recommend any of the above as a great choice for dining in Mississauga, Ontario. Try for yourself..
