Congrats! You’ve decided to get married in Las Vegas.
Now it’s time to get your wedding plans in order. Luckily the internet can help you in putting together your dream day far ahead of time. Here are a few tips for making your Las Vegas wedding come together flawlessly.

* Have an idea what type of wedding you want to have. Las Vegas is the wedding capital of the US, so your wedding day can be as unique as you. You can have a traditional wedding, a themed wedding.. you can even have Elvis
make an appearance. Outdoor weddings are also an option. It’s going to be a day to remember, so plan it how you want it. It is also good to have an idea of how many guests will be in attendance so you can decide how big you need your facility to be.

* To get married at your preferred chapel or casino, contact them a few months prior to your wedding date. This helps assure that you’ll get married at the time and the date you pick. If you are planning your wedding at a high volume time, such as New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s or Sweetest Day, you’ll want to make arrangements at least 6 months in advance. Failure to plan could be planning to fail! You might be required to make a deposit to “hold” your wedding date, so don’t be surprised if you are asked for a credit card number when setting up your arrangements. Many sites offer wedding packages including a photographer, videographer, flowers and reception packages. A wedding planner is available at most chapels/ casinos to help put your perfect wedding together. Make sure that you communicate what your needs will be for this big day.

* A Marriage license is required for all weddings to be recognized in the State of Nevada, and back at home. Las Vegas doesn’t have a waiting period and blood tests aren’t required. Minimum age is 18 without parental consent.
Marriage Licenses are issued at the Clark County Courthose, located at 200 S. 4th Street, downtown. They are open Monday-Thursday 8AM-Midnight.
Fridays, Saturdays and holidays they are open 24 hours. You will need your Identification, a copy of your birth Certificate and under 100.00 to have a license issued.

* Las Vegas has many places that offer Tux and Bridal Gown Rentals for those that are “doing it on a whim” or don’t want to travel with formal wear. When we were married in Vegas in 2003, we went to a place called “Ilene’s” on Las Vegas Blvd. Through the magic of alterations, we were both fit that morning for our wedding that took place at 6 PM. A bonus was the fact that they picked the wedding dress and tux at the front desk the next morning. We just had to get them down there before pick up time (which I think was around 11:00 AM)

I hope that these tips have been helpful in getting your Las Vegas wedding plans started. It’ll be the time of your life!
