The top of the world: the CN Tower in Toronto
March 15, 2006 – 6:42 amIt’s claimed as being the “Tallest Building in the World”, although that fact is disputed by several other structures. In any event, whether it’s the tallest or not, the thing is immense. Standing in front of the CN Tower and looking up, you get an overwhelming sense of just how huge it really is. Your basic tour, for around $22 US, is a trip to the top, which takes about 58 seconds, according to the tour guide.

Seen from its’ base, the CN Tower doesn’t even fit in the picture.
The $22 trip to the top doesn’t actually go to the top, but gets you to the lookout area, some 1,100 feet from the parking level. For $9 more, you can take a trip on the SkyPop and go another 300 or more feet. I had enough of heights at the lookout level. The view is truly incredible, although we went on a very overcast day. All in all, this is a can’t miss if you’re in Toronto.
