While we were out in Nevada, we drove out to Sam’s Town.

Sam’s Town was built and founded by Sam Boyd, a man that got involved with casino gaming at the young age of 17. From there he helped to build the city of Vegas with his special talent for casino gaming. He was involved with a number of other casinos in the Vegas area throughout his career.

It isn’t a city itself, but has many of the amenities that a local city would have wrapped up in one hotel and casino. Located at 5111 Boulder Highway, it is a short drive from the Strip. This place might be more appealing to families, because it also has a bowling center, a mega theater, and shopping all on site.

Here you’ll find (of course) your obligatory casino and hotel rooms.
Unlike a lot of hotels that are on the Strip, there was a very nice open atrium with waterfalls and foliage that had benches and chairs that visitors could relax at without feeling hurried. They have a number of restaurants, but they are probably best known for their all-you-can-eat buffet. Prices range from
5.00 to 20.00, depending on which meal you decide to eat there. We had breakfast, and it was pretty good.

It isn’t hard to miss.. here is a pic of the sign that welcomes you:

They have an RV Park as well, which might appeal to those that like to travel in land yachts!

Definitely worth checking out..
