That is something we are going to need to do someday soon.
It hasn’t been an issue as of yet, since many countries will allow you to travel freely with a copy of your Birth Certificate (if you are a married woman, it is strongly suggested that you also have a copy of your marriage certificate, as well) and a driver’s licence or other form of state ID.
Starting January 1, 2008 American travelers will be required to have a passport to re-enter the US from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada. Since these are some of our favorite destinations, this will also mean us.
