Diversity of dining choices in Toronto

March 12, 2006 – 1:13 pm

We recently had a quick jaunt in Toronto and were struck by the incredible diversity of the place. The population is from all four corners of the world. They are embracing their Canadian existence, but they’re also interested in preserving their own culture. This official policy of Multi-Culturalism has created neighborhoods that are diverse, and with them a great number of restaurants which offer cuisine from all over the world. It’s unlikely you could ever get bored dining out in Toronto.

In our short stay we managed to have both Thai and Indian dishes which were excellent. We could have chosen from other options like Caribbean, Italian or basic Canadian dining at Tim Horton’s. Who is this guy Tim Horton anyway? He basically dominates the Canadian scene in a Starbucksian fashion. Even the traveller who prefers his basic hamburger places can’t go wrong in this place. We’ll outline more of these options in upcoming pieces this month.
