Sosua.. Loved the sun!

We have returned from our annual holiday vacation tanned and rested.
I would have to say that the Dominican Republic is by far the
weirdest place we have ever visited. The weather can’t be beat though. It was sunny, hot and humid until the day we left. It was still hot and humid, but gray and rainy. On your last day, you just want to get home anyhow.
What I liked about the DR.
*Iguanas are EVERYWHERE! It was nice to sit out in an open air terrace and watch for these little reptiles running about. I got a few pictures of them that I’ll have to post up later.
*Sand Crabs. I was delighted to see these elusive little creatures playing on the beach every morning.
*The weather! Don’t know if I’d like it in the middle of August. It was pleasant
for the end of December, though.
*Strawmarket Shopping. Locals offer hand crafted paintings, clothing, pipes,
sculptures, jewelry made of jade, lapis lazuli, and other natural resources.
*The beach. We had access to both a private and public beach. The public beach was “top optional”. My first visit to a semi au natural beach.
*The Ocean. I brought googles and got to catch a glimpse of some fishes while
we played in the water. It is super warm, warmer than the hotels swimming pool.
Spanish is the primary language there, so you’ll want to keep this in mind.
English is still spoken, but not very well. You’ll also want to be familiar with conversion rates. American currency is accepted, but the dinero of the DR is the DR peso. 2800 pesos is 100.00 American dollars.
In order to enter the DR you are required to pay a $10.00 Entrance fee, and depending on your airline, a $20.00 Departure fee (this was included in our airfare, but other airlines didn’t do it this way.)
Overall the experience was a good one, and I hope to return there again someday.

Good description, it would be better if it’s so visual. Put some digital photos…stuff like that. So we…the web surfers can truly envision your travel experiences.
