2005 has been a very bad year for hurricanes. My heart goes out to all of the people that were affected by these storms.

We were considering going to Mexico for vacation, but from what I can see they ended up getting a lot of damage from Hurricane Wilma. I’m sure that a lot of the local resorts will hustle to try and get things repaired as quickly as possible, but it will affect tourism for sure.

When I was booking our holiday vacation last year, the travel agent was telling me a story about how one of her clients booked an all-inclusive vacation to the Bahamas. They decided not to spend the extra 100.00 dollars for travel insurance, and how it really blew up on them.

Travel Insurance protects you in case you can’t travel. It provides a means for you to get a refund or reschedule your trip for a later date, if for example there is a hurricane. Which is what happened to these people. They ended up cancelling their trip and losing close to $5,000.00. No insurance, no refunds. Tough luck for them. She said that she urged them to purchase it, but they wouldn’t budge.

That is a tough way to learn a lesson about a lousy extra hundred bucks, in my opinion.
If I am going to spend a couple thousand dollars on a fancy vacation, I’m going to be sure that I can go.. and if not, that I can get my money refunded.

Plan Smart and use travel insurance.. it could save your vacation!
