Americans Still Travel To Europe A Lot
April 3, 2007 – 2:05 pmAmericans have not given up the habit of travelling to Europe. In fact, the number of people who go there are staggering. Try 13 million in 2006.
Nearly 13 million Americans visited Europe in 2006, a 4 percent increase from the previous year, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Office of Travel & Tourism Industries. The European Travel Commission expects those numbers will increase another 2 or 3 percent this year.
The trend in these vacations is one that has been happening in broader circles. Americans are going to Europe with the intention of doing an activity. Adventures can be just as costly in Europe as they are in the US and just as dangerous, so check with your health insurance provider to make sure you’re covered before doing something crazy!
