All About The Skylon Tower

The Skylon Tower, which is located in Niagara Falls, is known as the tallest structure which overlooks New York, the American Falls, and the Horseshoe Falls located in Canada. The construction of this great wonder started in May 1964 and was officially opened in October of 65. The Skylon Tower is the most famous landmark in Niagara due to the spectacular views of both the Canadian Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls that it offers.

The tower features elevators that can carry passengers from the bottom to the top within less than a minute. There are also two restaurants located inside of the tower. They are known as the upper Summit Suite Buffet and the lower Revolving Dining Room. The Revolving Dining Room which seats almost 300 people revolves a single time every hour. You can admire the views from the observation deck which sits on the tower’s summit. From here you can enjoy an amazing view of the Niagara Falls, the Niagara wind district, the Great Gorge, and from the highest point you will see over 8,000 square miles of the U.S. and Canada. If viewing at night you will marvel at the majestic Falls and seasonal fireworks.

In the base of the tower you will find a large arcade, several gift shops and numerous fast food restaurants. For those who enjoy watching movies there has been a newly added 3D/4D Theatre, along with 2 Starbucks franchises, and a bridge which connects the Fallsview Casino.

The Skylon Tower houses a family fun center like no other. If you are looking for something to do with your family this is a great place to go.
